What's The Difference
Community Centre Courts
This is where most of us start. Drop-in fees are affordable, the vibe is relaxed, and nobody expects you to be good.
Dedicated Badminton Clubs
Built specifically for badminton with better lighting and court spacing. You might find lessons and competitions.
Wood Flooring
You'd find hardwood in most gyms. It's perfectly fine to play on, make sure you're wearing non-marking shoes.
Synthetic Flooring
Most dedicated clubs use these as it gives better grip when moving around the court. It's also easier on the knees.
Nylon Shuttlecocks
If you're just starting out, you'll mostly play with nylon. They last longer, cost less, and are forgiving to beginners.
Feather Shuttlecocks
Once you train more seriously, you'll notice the difference. Feather shuttles fly more naturally, more controlled.
