Head Light badminton rackets have a balance point more towards the handle therefore making the racket easier to handle.

The advantage of a head light racket is that it will be easier to defend with and allows you to react faster to shots due to the lighter weight of the head.  It will also place less stress on your arm and shoulder, meaning you can play for a longer time before fatiguing.

The disadvantage of a head light racket is that it will require more effort from the player to generate the same amount of power as you would from a head heavy or even balanced racket.
