POWER TRAINER – DEFENSE
Hi Everyone!
We posted about the power trainers numerous of times; however, we never really discussed the best use cases. One of the major risk factor for beginner and intermediate players are their overall strength and technique and the inability to hit with a proper stroke. If a player's stroke or technique is wrong with a regular racket, practising overhead strokes with the trainer racket will put them at risk of injury. Which is why we highly recommend the trainer rackets be used for defence training more often, here's why.
One of the major problem for students is 'overswinging' during direct doubles defensive plays. They take big strokes due to 'panic' or trying super hard to generate power from their entire arm.
Due to the trainer rackets being heavier, it doesn't allow the players to take a big swing as easily, and it requires them to make shorter strokes during smash returns (Because if strokes are longer, it takes too long to get back into position for the next smash).
Therefore, the trainer rackets should be used more for defensive practice for beginner/intermediate level players.
